Clinical Pharmacy Services
NYULMC Pharmacotherapy Team consists of highly trained clinical pharmacotherapists. Our pharmacotherapists have a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residency training, and are Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy or other specialized clinical areas. Our vision is to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to all patients at NYU Langone Medical Center. Clinical Pharmacotherapists have collaborative practice with our physician colleagues and our pharmacotherapeutic service is an essential component of the multidisciplinary team to provide care for our patients. Clinical pharmacy services are established in the areas of critical care (medical and surgical), internal medicine, infectious diseases, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and both adult and pediatric hematology/oncology. Our core mission is to provide high quality patient care by optimizing the use of medications, ensure their safe distribution and administration, and achieve positive patient outcomes. We contribute to educational programs and services throughout the medical center and educate on the safe, effective, and appropriate use of medications. Additionally, we have assisted in establishing the antimicrobial stewardship program, developing medication usage protocols, providing leadership for the development and conduction of medication-related clinical research, and are actively involved in various hospital-wide committees that guide effective and safe medication use and monitoring.
